We designed Nimue's Cottage with families in mind, and we understand that some families might have a few extra kids, so we do have a pull-out couch in case you need extra space. If you're traveling with two couples, please keep in mind that one bedroom has a queen bed, and the other has bunk beds, twin on top (200 pound weight limit on the top bunk) and full down below. Oh, and you're probably wondering about the name Nimue. All of the roads at our community - Lancelot Shores - are named after characters from King Arthur and Arthurian Legend. Nimue is the Lady of the Lake - a fitting name for our charming lake home! ** EXTREMELY IMPORTANT - READ BELOW ** - DO NOT GO ONTO THE PRIVATE PROPERTIES OWNED BY OUR NEIGHBORS - THESE ARE THEIR HOMES - As a host, I feel entirely ridiculous even having to include this section within our listing. You are welcome to use our property, enjoy walking throughout the private roads of Lancelot Shores, and even use the community beaches and boat ramp. We’re lucky to be in a peaceful, close-knit neighborhood, and maintaining strong relationships with our neighbors is a big part of what makes our home and this community special. For over 99.9% of our guests - this is obvious and not an issue. Unfortunately, for the 0.1% of guests who haven't quite understood this, it has caused a problem with our immediate neighbors, and they let us know EVERY TIME someone violates this rule. That’s where you come in. We ask—firmly and respectfully—that guests do not set foot on any neighboring property for any reason. This includes: ** The yard and beach across the street (no sitting, walking, or passing through) ** Launching kayaks, paddleboards, or other watercraft from the private beach across the street. That is their yard - please don't even ask them if it's ok. ** Swimming or entering the water from any neighboring beach ** Using any garbage or recycling bins that are not on this property ** Taking photos or wandering onto lawns, driveways, or shared paths Some neighboring properties have security cameras and will contact us immediately if guests trespass, even briefly. Their cameras are motion-sensored. We know this may feel strict, but it’s part of being a great guest in our shared community. If you have any questions about boundaries or access points, just ask—we’re happy to help. Our property lines should be fairly obvious, as are the ones for our neighbors as you navigate within our community. Renting our home constitutes that you have read and understood this policy. - We love dogs! We warmly welcome your canine companions to our home. For the safety and comfort of all, we kindly ask that you keep your furry friends on a leash when outside, pick up after them with poop bags, and be mindful of other dogs in the neighborhood. And we ask that you limit dogs to 2 well-behaved furry friends. - Unfortunately, no cats and no smoking. I am extremely allergic to both. - Bunk Bed Safety Warning: There are certain risks associated with using a bunk bed and bunk bed ladder, and guests agree that use is at your own risk. Property owner assumes no responsibility for personal loss, injury, or illness of any kind which may result from use of the bunk bed and ladder. The owners are not liable for any accidents occurring. Parents with children should be especially cautioned regarding ladder use and agree to accept all responsibility for minors. Nimue's Cottage is across the street from Baxter Lake and about a 5 minute walk along a quiet and safe private road to the beachfront. From there, you can swim, launch kayaks, launch a boat, or just enjoy the views. We are located right on the town line of Farmington and Rochester, and you will find plenty of amenities 15 minutes away by car in Rochester (large grocery stores including the best Market Basket ever, Home Depot, Lowe's, restaurants, gas stations, services, etc.)

Guest access

From the moment you arrive and make use of the convenient self-check-in, we encourage you to enjoy the entire house. The property is at your complete disposal with the exception of the owner’s closet. We have a garage on-site that we're currently using for storage. There is a washer and dryer for your convenience. This is a pet-friendly home. We look forward to hosting you and your furry friend! There is ample parking in the driveway for 3 cars.

This cottage is great! My daughter and I were in town to see family. We arrived late and I was so happy that everything matched the photos and description. My 16 month old grandaughter visited and all she wanted to do was dive into the dog bed over and over. She was squealing with laughter. It was hilarious and definitely an unexpected highlight of our trip.

Find us

You will need a car to get to Nimue's Cottage, but thankfully, we have plenty of parking for up to 4 cars. Once there, you can walk or bike up and down the street. You will also see people riding ATVs, motorcycles, or snowmobiles, depending upon the season.
